  • A BURLESQUE ON CARMEN
    by Charlie Chaplin (1915)

    This film is a parody of Cecil B. DeMille’s 1915 film Carmen, which was an interpretation of the novella Carmen by Prosper Mérimée. Charles Chaplin plays Darn Hosiery, who is seduced by Carmen, played by Edna Purviance.
    The screening will be followed by a discussion panel.
