Enjoy the music of Puccini, the composer of Il Trittico, in the score of the movie A Room with a View.

Richard Robbin’s music track for A Room With A View employs music from Puccini to connect the brighter and darker moments of the story of Lucy Honeychurch as she is pulled by her desire for freedom and self discovery in Florence and the formal demands of her family back home. The soundtrack features Dame Kiri Te Kanawa singing “O mio babbino caro”.

Helena Bonham Carter plays a young Edwardian woman who is trying to sort out her burgeoning romantic feelings, divided between an enigmatic free spirit (Julian Sands) she meets in Florence and a priggish bookworm (Daniel Day-Lewis). Funny, sexy, and sophisticated, this art-house hit features a sublime supporting cast — including Simon Callow, Judi Dench, Denholm Elliott, and Maggie Smith — and remains a touchstone of intelligent romantic cinema.
