Living Opera Classroom Workshops
A vibrant 40-minute program that brings music and storytelling directly into K–7 classrooms, connecting opera to Arts Education and Language Arts curricula. These workshops help students discover opera as something immediate, imaginative, and welcoming; planting the seed for the next generation of opera lovers and performers.
Opera Sprouts Initiative
A pilot initiative exploring the creation of new opera for youth in BC schools. In partnership with Vancouver Opera, Opera Sprouts supports composer–librettist teams through mentorship and collaboration—cultivating new works for schools while helping artists build professional connections. The teams also engage schools in the creative process, gathering feedback and inspiration from the very young audiences these operas are designed to reach.
