Accessibility: The theatre does not have an elevator. Accessible seating, including wheelchair seating, is available on the main level of the auditorium.
The Baumann Centre
The Baumann Centre is our community, music, and administrative facility.

Accessibility: Patrons using wheelchairs are accommodated at a side entrance with an elevator. Visitors may ring the bell at the main entrance door to be directed to the side entrance where staff will meet them.

Wilson’s Opera Bus
A relaxing and worry-free way to attend the Sunday Matinée!
Residents of the Saanich Peninsula and southern Vancouver Island can ride in comfort and arrive in style by taking the Opera Bus to the Sunday Matinée! Wilson’s Opera Bus also picks up passengers arriving at the Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal from Tsawwassen and Salt Spring Island.
Leave the driving to the professionals and relax with other opera lovers. During the trip, you can watch a DVD of Principal Coach Robert Holliston’s pre-performance lecture! After the performance, the Opera Bus will be waiting at the theatre door to whisk you back home.
The Opera Bus arrives at the Royal Theatre in time for the 2:30 pm Sunday Matinée.
Return tickets are $25 per person per opera plus the cost of your performance ticket. Reserve your ticket on the Opera Bus by calling 250.382.1641 no later than the Wednesday prior to the Sunday matinée.

Pick-up locations and departure times
There are two Wilson’s Opera Buses: one on the Saanich Peninsula and a second Opera Bus for up-island patrons.
Saanich Peninsula Opera Bus
- Swartz Bay: 12:35 pm. Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal.
Bus will wait for passengers of the 11 am ferry from Tsawwassen (ETA 12:35 pm) and the 11:50 am ferry from Salt Spring Island (ETA 12:25 pm). Guests will be met by the Opera Bus host inside the walk-off area at the top of the escalator in the arrivals terminal. - Sidney: 1:00 pm. Mary Winspear Centre, 2243 Beacon Avenue
- Saanichton: 1:20 pm. St. Mary’s Church, 1973 Cultra Avenue.
Up-Island Opera Bus
- Nanaimo: 11:30 am. Galaxy Theatre
West side of North Town Centre, 4750 Rutherford Road.
An additional request stop is available for Gabriola Ferry foot passengers, 11:45 am, Port Theatre, 125 Front Street. By request only. - Ladysmith: 12:15 pm. Island Savings Credit Union

Please be at your pickup point at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time. We cannot issue refunds or credits if you miss your bus. Please also ensure that you make your Opera Bus booking no later than noon on the Wednesday prior to the matinée performance.
In the event that patrons do not make it to the opera as a result of the bus not fulfilling its obligations, appropriate credits will be issued.
