Chief Fiona Wilson has more than 27 years of policing experience and currently serves as the Chief Constable of the Victoria Police Department (VicPD) in British Columbia, Canada. Appointed Chief in 2025, she brings extensive operational and executive leadership experience from a distinguished career with the Vancouver Police Department (VPD).

Prior to joining VicPD, Chief Wilson served as a Deputy Chief with the VPD, where she led the Investigation Division. In that role, she was responsible for oversight of major crime, organized crime, gang and drug enforcement, intelligence and counterterrorism, cybercrime and digital forensics, sex crimes, domestic violence investigations, youth services, and covert and technical operations.

Chief Wilson joined the VPD in 1999 and served in a wide range of frontline, investigative, and leadership roles throughout her career. She began as a patrol officer, including walking the beat in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, one of Canada’s most complex policing environments. She later worked in the Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Unit and in the Professional Standards Section.

Over the course of her career, Chief Wilson has served as a Crisis Negotiator, Field Trainer, and undercover operator in Vice and Drug Squads. She participated in several long term major crime investigations and was seconded to the RCMP Federal Serious Organized Crime Unit as a Team Leader. She also served as the Deputy Chief Operations Support Officer at the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit, British Columbia’s integrated anti gang policing unit.

Chief Wilson has also played an active role in policing leadership and policy development at the provincial and national level. She is an Accredited Team Commander, a past President of the British Columbia Association of Chiefs of Police, co chair of the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police Drug Advisory Committee, and a member of the CACP Counter Terrorism and National Security Committee. She also serves as the Canadian representative for the Leaders in Counter Terrorism Alumni Association.

Chief Wilson holds Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in Criminology from Simon Fraser University. She is an Officer of the Order of Merit of the Police Forces and the recipient of numerous commendations and community awards.
