Arcade Pallot
Communications Coordinator
Arcade Pallot is a communications specialist whose work has been a part of many communities on Vancouver island, mostly operating on the unceded, unsurrendered territories of the W̱SÁNEĆ and Lkwungen peoples. One has likely seen Arcade behind a camera lens at the Pacific Opera Victoria’s many events.
Arcade grew up as an uninvited guest on the T’Sou-ke territories, also known as Sooke, a small town outside of Victoria. He’s been involved with the Sooke Writer’s Collective since its inception, illustrating the group’s yearly anthologies, other graphic design projects, and providing support to other writers. A graduate of UVIC’s Humanities program, Arcade’s degree had an emphasis on film, classic literature and Indigenous studies.
After graduating, Arcade became heavily involved the CFUV 101.9 FM, UVIC’s campus and community radio station. Performing everything from interviews, queer news topics, voice acting, scripting, editing and everything to do with broadcasting and podcasting. Some of his projects include directing, producing and composing for a two part radio play titled Fragmented Identity, co-directed and produced with The Velvet Unicorn, as well as syndicating the nationally recognized podcast, CANADALAND. Arcade continues creating his electronic music show, Transmissions from Side 7, to this day (every Tuesday from 7-9 am).
After moving on from CFUV, Arcade held a position as the Operations Manager and Box Office Coordinator for The Victoria Film Festival. There, he was heavily involved in the marketing and operation of the 2023 VFF, including managing its box office, and webpage. During his tenure with VFF, he also screened Japanese and Korean full length films and short films.
Arcade is a queer, second generation mixed Asian (Filipino) and uses his skills in photography, illustration, and graphic design to support every project of the opera.
