Barbara joined the Board of Trustees of the Pacific Opera Victoria Foundation in 2020, having served on the Board of the Pacific Opera Victoria Association since 2006, following previous terms as a director from 1996 to 2004. She is a long-time supporter of the opera, both personally and through her corporate sponsorships.

Barbara’s flourishing career in the retail world started 35 years ago when she opened her first Boutique on Fort Street in downtown Victoria. Her business is now based in Sidney, where she owns two fashion stores, Baden-Baden Boutique and Barbara’s Boutique.

Barbara was born and educated in Germany and England and immigrated to Canada in 1965. She has lived in Victoria since 1981 and has been active on a number of Boards, serving as a School Trustee in the Kootenays and a director with Kaleidoscope Theatre, Norfolk House School, the Oak Bay Lodge Foundation, and Pacific Opera Victoria. She enjoys volunteering and staying active and involved with the local community.
