Soprano Cécile Muhire will be joining Pacific Opera Victoria for the very first time, singing the role of Zerlina, a role she previously sang on tour with Jeunesses Musicales Canada in 2018.

Cécile is a graduate of the Conservatoire de Musique de Montréal, and is now pursuing her musical training under the tutelage of soprano Monique Pagé at Université de Montréal. Cécile has been awarded the prestigious bursary from the Jacqueline Desmarais Foundation twice, and was a vocal apprentice of Opera de Montréal’s highly esteemed program of the Atelier lyrique from 2014 to 2016. Cécile was also awarded the highest scholarship Young Canadian Scholarship Hopeful from the Jeunes Ambassadeurs Lyriques, offering audition and appearances in training programs in opera houses across Europe.

Among her many accomplishments, she has performed under the baton of maestros Jordan de Souza, Jean-Marie Zeitouni et Mathieu Lussier as soprano soloist. She also had the amazing opportunitie to sing in Elisir d’amore the role of Adina Elisir d’amore with Atelier lyrique, as well as the role of The Strawberry Woman, when she made her debut with Opera the Montreal, in Porgy and Bess.

Next May, Cécile will be performing with the Montreal Symphonic Orchestrai the concert Play me a poem.
