Co-owner of Monday Magazine and a bonsai master, George helped found Western Canada’s only outdoor bonsai garden at the Horticulture Centre of the Pacific.  A formidable advocate for opera and the arts, George co-founded Pacific Opera Victoria in 1979 with his wife Jane. As Pacific Opera Victoria’s first President, George served from 1979 to 1989 and continued on the board until 1996. He served as President and a trustee of the Pacific Opera Victoria Foundation from its founding in 1987 until 1999.  The George & Jane Heffelfinger Music Collection in the Pacific Opera Victoria Music Library is a daily reminder of the influence and generosity of this amazing couple.
