Jan Van der Hooft’s debut with Pacific Opera includes the roles of the Song Vendor in Il tabarro and Spinelloccio in Gianni Schicchi, both part of the company’s 2019 production of Puccini’s Il trittico.

He also sings the role of Devon in performances of  Missing in Victoria, Regina, and Prince George. Other season highlights include Christmas in Bohemia with the Sooke Philharmonic Orchestra, and Messiah with  the Victoria Civic Orchestra.

The Canadian tenor is an alumnus of the Emerging Artist Program at Calgary Opera, where his credits included his main stage debut as Tybalt in Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette, and the role of The Nephew in the world première of Veronika Krausas’ critically acclaimed new work, Ghost Opera.
