Jayden Eric Beaudoin is a Canadian percussionist, educator, and multimedia artist whose vibrant career spans musical theatre, orchestral performance, military bands, and photography. Jayden studied music performance at Douglas College, the University of British Columbia (BMus 2011), and the University of Western Ontario (MMus 2014), the latter where he premiered and recorded the Canadian debut of Casey Cangelosi’s Concerto for Marimba and Orchestra No. 2 and also received a certificate in University Teaching and Learning. He has performed across Canada and internationally with ensembles such as the Vancouver Metropolitan Opera, the International Symphony Orchestra, and multiple Canadian Armed Forces bands, including prestigious appearances at Buckingham Palace and commemorative events in Europe.
Beyond the stage, Jayden is a dynamic contributor to the Canadian arts scene. He’s served in roles ranging from music director and admissions officer to publicist, stage manager, and librarian. In 2018, he founded the Marg Beaudoin Memorial Music Scholarship at Douglas College in honour of his mother. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he added photography and videography into his skillset, earning recognition in campaigns for brands like Sennheiser Microphones, CBC’s 30 Under 30, and producing videos in Europe in collaboration with the European Institute of Technology. His 2024 travel memoir, Cycling From Sea to Sea, became an Amazon bestseller, reflecting his passion for storytelling and exploration.
In addition to working with Pacific Opera Victoria, Jayden maintains a multifaceted career in Victoria where he serves as a musician and head librarian with the 5th Field (BC) Regiment Band; a front-of-house usher with Royal and McPherson Theatres Society; a teacher, stage manager; and support staff with the Victoria Conservatory of Music. He also enjoys continuously blurring the lines between performance, production, and storytelling as he tackles projects as a freelance musician, writer, audio engineer, photographer, videographer, and producer.
