Louis Dillon

Bass-Baritone

Past Shows:

Baritone Louis Dillon was first put under opera’s spell when he joined Pacific Opera Victoria’s chorus for their 2015 production of Verdi’s Otello. He has remained under that spell for over a decade, singing with the company as a chorus member, and in their outreach programs Pop-Up Opera and Coloratura. His first role with POV was the Customs Sergeant in their 2018 production of La Bohème, and he has appeared most recently as Maestro in Ainadamar, Bard in The Odyssey, and the Jailor in Tosca.

Originally from Halfmoon Bay, BC, Louis currently resides in Victoria where he completed his Diploma in Music Performance at the Victoria Conservatory of Music. Spurred on by his mentors Ingrid Attrot and Nancy Argenta, he is always eager to share his love of music, whether it be through performance or teaching.

Recent highlights include covering the role of Polifemo for the Early Music Society of the Island’s presentation of Handel’s Aci, Galatea, e Polifemo, appearing in an old growth forest for the premiere of Paul Walde’s verbatim opera Forestorium, and premiering the role of Nazim in Rick Waines/MJ Coomber’s verbatim opera adaptation I am Beauty.

When he’s not singing, you can usually find Louis riding his bike, hiking in the nearby woods, or giving long-winded takes about his favourite albums.
