With a passion for supporting artists and expressing her own creativity, Mackenzie is in the unique position to do both simultaneously as Pacific Opera’s Communications Coordinator. Within her multi-faceted position, Mackenzie is a storyteller focused on creating genuine connection between artists and patrons, whether it be through the medium of graphic design, web development, photography, videography, social media, or writing.
Prior to starting at Pacific Opera Victoria, Mackenzie received her BA in Creative Industries with a minor in Photography Studies from Ryerson University. While living in Toronto, Mackenzie worked as a Public Relations Coordinator at Twist Gallery and the Photographer and Marketing Assistant at Ryerson University. During her four years in university, Mackenzie received a minor in Media Creation and Management at Hochschule der Medien in Germany, where she co-hosted a live radio show.
Both at work and in her spare time Mackenzie can be found behind the lens of her camera. She has had photography published in local and national publications, including on the cover of Opera Canada. Mackenzie has worked with the Victoria Symphony, Intrepid Theatre, re:Naissance Opera, Ryerson University, The School of Creative Industries, and Twist Gallery in addition to finding her way onto many indie film sets as a Behind the Scenes Photographer.
