Margot McLaren Moore

Margot McLaren Moore began her professional career with the Government of Canada. Responsible for community job creation grants she gained an in-depth knowledge of non-profit organizations. Concurrently, as chair of a province-wide policy and planning group, Margot participated in complex discussions focused on organizational issues. She joined the United Way of Greater Victoria in 1989. Initially responsible for board training and organizational development programs, she later took responsibility for campaign and development. During her tenure with United Way, Margot spearheaded the development and implementation of a management consulting program for community agencies; quadrupled training program activity; and directed two successful annual campaigns.
In 1996 Margot and her business partners formed Trilogy Group. Much of her work focused within the Canadian community foundation movement. She developed and delivered a number of workshops for Community Foundations of Canada, provided training and facilitation services, contributed to the development and implementation of complex initiatives and developed leadership and evaluation tools.
Margot served on the Pacific Opera Board from 2008 to 2017, was Secretary from 2011 to 2017, and rejoined the board in 2020. She facilitated strategic planning sessions and led a strategic planning task force for Pacific Opera’s 2017 to 2020 Strategic Plan.
She has also been an active community volunteer and served on the boards of the Children’s Health Foundation, and the Telus Community Board as well as the boards of YMCA Canada, the Foundation for Arts Sustainability, Leadership Victoria, Volunteer Victoria and the YMCA-YWCA of Greater Victoria.
