Nancy is delighted to be back at Pacific Opera Victoria working with the entire team. Previous designs for Pacific Opera include set and costumes for Fidelio (2018), costumes for Das Reingold (2014) and The Flying Dutchman (2011), set and costumes for Rodelinda (2010) and costumes for The Rake’s Progress (2009). Other costume designs for opera include The Overcoat: A Musical Tailoring (2018) for Tapestry Opera, Canstage and the Vancouver Opera; The three Penny Opera (2004) and Sweeney Todd (2015) for the Vancouver Opera.

Nancy has enjoyed a career of collaborations with wonderful colleagues who are some of Canada’s most innovative directors, writers, choreographers and fellow designers for theatre, opera and dance which has spanned over the last four decades. Her design work has taken her across the country, the US, Europe and to the UK.

During the last decade her work with choreographer Crystal Pite and the team includes costume designs for The Paris Opera Ballet (2016, 2019), The Netherlands Dance Theatre (2010, 2013, 2018, 2022), The National Ballet of Canada (2020), The Zurich Opera Ballet (2021), Pacific Northwest Ballet (2017, 2022) and with Crystal’s own touring company based in Vancouver, Kidd Pivot, The Tempest Replica (2011), Betroffenheit (2015) and Revisor (2019). Most recently, Light of Passage (2022) for the Royal Opera Ballet, a co-production with The Norwegian Ballet for the spring of 2023 and coming up, Kidd Pivot’s production Revisor is heading out on a world tour.
