Born in Hong Kong, Stephanie Wong (she/her) is a multidisciplinary artist who is grateful to live and create on the ancestral and unceded lands of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm, Skwxwú7mesh, and Səl̓ílwətaʔ peoples. Her art is an invocation to imagination, which she explores through a practice of directing, producing, dramaturgy, new work creation, performance, and design. A graduate of Studio 58’s Acting Program, and the Associate Artistic Director of re:Naissance Opera, she has more recently transferred her multidisciplinary live performance skills to the digital landscape. Her aim is to infuse ‘theatre magic’ into various technological mediums. She has built sets for stop motion films, devised immersive digital livestreams, and dramaturged operatic stories for augmented reality (XR) experiences. By honoring the intersections of her professional and personal experience, her work amplifies stories of culture, connection, and coexistence.
