Sylvain Genois
Costume Designer
Sylvain Genois made his opera debut designing costumes for the production of Carmen at Pacific Opera Victoria in 2022. He now enters a whole new world with this production of Orpheus & Eurydice, directed by Amanda Testini. With an established career and a well-known name in the Quebec cultural scene, Sylvain has designed costumes for a wide variety of productions, including musicals such as Chicago, Waitress, Pub Royal, and many more. He also collaborates with circus and dance companies. More recently, his work was showcased in the large-scale historical production Bernadette the Musical, created by Serge Denoncourt and currently touring the United States.
Several exciting projects lie ahead, including costume design alongside the renowned director René-Richard Cyr for Cyrano de Bergerac. He is also part of the creative team for Les Misérables, soon to be presented in Montreal. With Orpheus & Eurydice, Sylvain brings a sensitive and human vision to this masterpiece. It is once again a true pleasure and an incredible opportunity for him to travel across the country to share his passion with the team at Pacific Victoria Opera.
