Open Air: Opera in the Summer features free and ticketed music throughout the CRD. Pop Up Opera visits iconic locations around the region. The Baumann Centre rings with family-friendly performances of Ben Moore’s Odyssey, and a lineup of Canadian Opera soloists and the Pacific Opera Chorus with the Victoria Symphony delivering an all-opera concert program at Butchart Gardens on July 24.

Join us for an unforgettable adventure as Pacific Opera Victoria’s Youth Summer Performance Program presents a fully staged production of The Odyssey, a 50-minute opera by Ben Moore & Kelley Rourke.
Starring talented youth aged 8–18, this epic tale comes to life with music, magic, and myth — a perfect night out for opera lovers of all ages!

Keep your ears open — local singers will be making surprise appearances all over the Capital Regional District, bringing bursts of live opera into everyday spaces.
These aren’t your typical concerts. Pop Up Opera brings music out of the theatre and into the streets, transforming ordinary moments into extraordinary ones. Whether you’re walking through a park or grabbing your morning coffee, you might just find yourself in the middle of a stunning six-minute serenade. Short, spontaneous, and completely free, these performances are designed to surprise and delight — no stage, no tickets, just beautiful music shared with the community.
