Orders placed through the RMTS box office are subject to a handling fee of $3 per order for online orders, and $2 per ticket for telephone orders.


Exchange and Refund Policies

All tickets are non-refundable.

Single tickets may be exchanged for another performance of the same opera for an exchange fee of $2.50 per ticket. Simply contact either Box Office by phone or in person at least one business day before the scheduled performance.  If you purchased your ticket online, please contact the RMTS for any exchanges.

If the new ticket is a higher price, the difference in price must be paid. There are no refunds or credits if the new ticket is a lower price point than the original.

If you are unable to attend your scheduled performance or to exchange your ticket for another performance, please consider sharing the opera experience by passing your tickets along to a friend or colleague.

All seating is subject to availability.

Lost tickets can be reprinted at the box office when you arrive for the performance. Please arrive at the box office at least 30 minutes prior to performance start time and bring some ID. A replacement ticket will be issued at that time.


Student Rush Tickets  

Student Rush Tickets are available at the door of the Royal Theatre one hour prior to any regular performance (valid student ID required, subject to availability). Rush tickets are $15 for the best seats available anywhere in the theatre!


Group Bookings

Pacific Opera is always happy to work with individuals and/or companies who would like to make a group booking. We offer a 10% discount off our regular adult price for groups of 10 or more.

Group Details

Groups are seated on a first-come, first-served basis and may book as soon as single tickets go on sale to the general public. While we do our best to seat groups together, you may also mix and match and select different price levels and seating areas if you prefer.

To confirm your group reservation, we ask for a $100 non-refundable deposit, which will be credited toward the final group ticket purchase. After the deposit is made, you may change the number of reserved tickets (subject to availability) until we have received the final payment. The remaining balance is due no later than two weeks prior to your scheduled performance date.

Once the final payment is made, tickets are non-refundable and will be delivered by mail, or held at the theatre box office for pick-up.

Additional Information

Latecomers will not be seated until intermission, so please arrive in plenty of time.

We encourage you to arrive one hour early so you can enjoy Robert Holliston’s pre-performance lobby lecture, which is free with your ticket.

Pacific Opera Victoria tries to maintain a scent-free zone, so please be considerate to other patrons and refrain from wearing strong perfume or cologne to the theatre.

No video, audio or photo recordings are allowed inside the theatre.

Light snacks and beverages are available for purchase before the show and at intermission.

The length of each opera performance varies. Most performances last about 2 hours and 45 minutes, including an intermission. If you need information about a specific production, please contact our Box Office at 250-385-0222.


30 & Younger Program

Experience live opera at a fraction of the cost of regular tickets! 30 and Younger is a free membership program for anyone aged 30 or under. Members may buy up to two tickets for 50% off the regular adult ticket price on selected performances and seating sections.

How the 30 & Younger Program works:

Watch for an email about a month before each opera production with the information, promo code, and expiry date for buying your discount tickets.

You may order your tickets online, in person, or over the phone up to one week before the performance. To pick up your tickets, bring photo ID; you may pick them up in advance or at the theatre when you come for the performance.

You will also receive Pacific Opera’s Enews with information about the operas and news about all kinds of special events, many of them free.

You may pay for your tickets by credit card, by cash or cheque (for in-person purchases), or by debit card (RMTS Box office only).

You may pick up your tickets

  • in advance at either the Pacific Opera or RMTS Box Offices during business hours. Online orders must be picked up at the RMTS Box Office.
  • at the theatre up to 90 minutes before the performance.

Photo ID

When you pick up your tickets, you must bring valid photo ID, such as a Driver’s licence, BCID, or Passport, showing your birth date. This requirement may be waived if you are in Elementary or Secondary school, and not yet of an age to have photo ID such as a driver’s license.

Frequently asked questions

May I bring a guest? Does my guest also have to be 30 or younger?

Your 30 & Younger Membership allows you to buy up to two tickets for yourself and a guest of any age – a friend, date, roommate, even a parent or grandparent! But you need to pick up the tickets yourself, using your valid photo ID.

I’m a parent. Can I sign my child up for a Membership?

Yes. You may use your own email address, but please make sure the 30 & Younger Membership is under your child’s name. Although you may attend as your child’s guest, your child must be present when you pick up the tickets.

How else can I get inexpensive tickets to the opera?

Full-time students in elementary, middle, secondary and post-secondary institutions, as well as home learners, may attend the Student Preview for just $15. Find out more

Does my Membership expire?

Your 30 & Younger Membership will expire when you turn 31.

Are all Performances available to 30 and Younger members?

Membership seats are available for all productions but not all performances. There is very limited availability for some operas. If you have questions about availability, please call our Box Office at 250.385.0222.

Where will my seats be?

The seating will vary by performance, based on availability. We will indicate what sections contain eligible seating in our e-mails.

Can I refund or change my 30 & Younger Tickets?

All ticket sales are final. There are no refunds offered for tickets purchased through this program.

Tickets may be exchanged for a fee, but only on other tickets available for 30 & Younger Members.
